Current Nominations
Sue Morphett, CEO, Pacific Brands - taking responsibility for offshore emissions
In a recent seminar at Bond University, Sue impressively stated that large manufacturers such as Pacific Brands should not just reduce their local environmental footprint but take responsibility for offshore emissions in countries such as China where factories are now producing Australian products. Nominated by Tony Hall.
Liane Rossler, Director of Dinosaur Designs committed to sustainable business practice.
Liane has fundamentally changed how her company runs from an ESD perspective, she is an Al Gore Ambassador, one of the key people who runs Greenups, is a key member of Nitty Gritty (they knit any sort of recycled plastic for events), percentages of certain Dinosaur Designs ranges are given to support WWF projects and the list goes on and on. Nominated by Sam Marshall.
Steve Gration, Save Our Spit (www.saveourspit.com)
Steve has tirelessly worked to protect the only piece of native land not developed at Surfers Paradise. The efforts of Steve and his team have rebuffed a cruise ship terminal, super yacht marina, marine simulator and a giant ferris wheel - all ridiculously inappropriate for a delicate strip of beach and bushland. Nominated by Tony Hall.
Clinton Newall, Business Manager, Auto Rail Logistics Pty Ltd committed to greening Australia's transport industry.
Auto Rail Logistics has commenced operations with a rail freight service for vehicles between Melbourne and Perth. Not only does this method of transport have a substantially ligher environmental impact than traditional road freight, but the company has also carbon offset 100% of its operation. Nominated by Elissa Newall.
