I had been looking to purchase a business for a while and wanted to work with a company that is unique in the market place and helps businesses become more efficient, save money and stand out against competitors. GreenBizCheck's world-leading environmental certification ticked all the relevant boxes.

What is your role as a GreenBizCheck franchisee?

My business looks after the Brisbane CBD and Inner North East and I am working very closely with organizations such as CitySmart (adviser to the Brisbane City Council) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland to help businesses become more efficient and sustainable.

What services/products do you provide?

GreenBizCheck provides clients an action-oriented, high impact, online environmental assessment and certification program that assesses their initial sustainability and provides a report with actions that can be implemented to improve their score. Their improvements can be measured and audited online and when they reach 70%, 80% or 90% they receive bronze, silver or gold certification, respectively.

We also provide implementation assistance where we can do the hard work for clients and help them achieve better and faster results.

What locations or areas do you service?

Brisbane CBD and Inner North East - offices, restaurants, cafes and retail outlets.

What is unique about your GreenBizCheck franchise?

As I have lived and worked in the area most of my life, I am aware of some of the limitations local businesses can encounter and am able to provide tailored solutions for them to help achieve better results.

What is the best part of your day as a GreenBizCheck Franchisee?

I am extremely passionate in helping businesses embark on their sustainability journey. Our certification provides them with a blueprint of simple to implement actions that will have immediate results. I love to see clients achieve certification and benefit from the cost savings and the marked improvement in the marketplace.

It is also great to see companies that companies that undergo our certification are gaining market share as the public and business acknowledge their sustainability drive.

What has been your biggest challenge as a GreenBizCheck franchisee?

Most businesses want to take action but have limited resources and that is where we can help out. Many businesses still think that sustainability is too hard and too costly when as a matter of fact they are going to improve their bottom line by implementing some of our very simple actions.

What are the benefits of being a GreenBizCheck Franchisee?

Working your own hours and from a home office is a definite plus. I also do not need to carry any stock or inventory. My overheads are also minimal.

Since becoming a GreenBizCheck franchisee what has been your most memorable moment?

Signing my first client and seeing the GreenBizCheck logo on their website and the certificate in their office reception once they obtained certification.

What has been your greatest achievement as a GreenBizCheck Franchisee?

Running a successful business I am proud of while also managing to spend time with my family.
