What attracted you to the GreenBizCheck franchise?

I wanted to work with a business that was trying to contribute positively to society and help reduce the environmental impact of businesses. There seemed to be a disconnect between what needs to be done and the number of businesses that were actually doing something, as most businesses did not really know what to do.

What is your role as a GreenBizCheck franchisee?

My role is to introduce Gold Coast businesses to the GreenBizCheck system and provide them with the opportunity to improve their sustainability, become more attractive to environmentally conscious consumers, staff and businesses and help them save money.

What services/products do you provide?

GreenBizCheck provides clients a user-friendly online environmental assessment and certification program that assesses their initial sustainability and provides a report with actions that can be implemented to improve their score. Their improvements can be measured and audited online and when they reach 70%, 80% or 90% they reach bronze, silver or gold certification. I also offer consultancy services to clients who may not have the time or resources to complete the program.

What locations or areas do you service?

Gold Coast South - offices, restaurants, cafes and retail outlets.

What is unique about your GreenBizCheck franchise?

I am really passionate about helping local businesses and love networking and working in the B2B space. GreenBizCheck has developed many first class alliances with organizations such as Chamber of Commerce and Industry QLD, NSW Business Chamber, Corporate Express, Australasian Compliance Institute, Australian Human Resources Institute, British Standards Institute, NRMA, Australian Information Industry Association to name but a few. These alliances are testimony to the value of our program and I can leverage these relationships in my discussions with prospective clients.

What is the best part of your day as a GreenBizCheck Franchisee?

Having the freedom to create my own agenda and secure clients in areas that I am really passionate about.

What has been your biggest challenge as a GreenBizCheck franchisee?

Changing the mindset of some Purchasing Managers can be challenging, but also very rewarding once the recommended actions have been implemented and they can see the benefits.

What are the benefits of being a GreenBizCheck Franchisee?

GreenBizCheck has created a very supportive environment from head office to communicating with other franchisees. While I'm running my own business, I also feel like help is at hand anytime I need it.

Since becoming a GreenBizCheck franchisee what has been your most memorable moment?

Speaking at a local business networking breakfast and being overwhelmed by the positive response; it seems that everyone wants to talk to us as we offer a certification program that will help virtually every business.

What has been your greatest achievement as a GreenBizCheck Franchisee?

Helping local businesses form greater alliances with one another while also saving them money and reducing their environmental impact.
