A Low Carbon Breakfast with BDO National Leader, Dylan Byrne

GreenBizCheck will be holding a fully catered sit down breakfast at Victoria Park Function Centre on 8 September with BDO, Carbon Specialist Dylan Byrne, National Leader, Environmental Sustainability.

Dylan has more than 16 years experience in public practice and during this time he has been working with clients from a wide range of industries.He heads up the Sustainability Advisory Group for BDO on a national basis, and is actively involved in assisting clients in meeting their carbon obligations as well as planning for future changes in this area. Dylan has also worked closely with State and Federal government departments in accessing grants and rebates in a competitive environment.

Key Assignments

  • National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act - working with a number of mining clients in determining their exposure to NGERs, understanding the scope of their corporate group, review of facilities (within the definition), arrangements for measurement and verification of emissions and energy data, and reporting via OSCAR.
  • Emissions Intensive Trade Exposed (EITE) Industry Assistance - working with mining and manufacturing industries in establishing eligibility for free permits under the proposed CPRS
  • Sustainability Advisory - Developed Journey to Sustainability planning tool to help clients strategically manage their specific requirements, obligations, risks, opportunities etc in relation to Sustainability and Climate Change.
  • Energy Audits - Worked in conjunction with environmental and engineering specialists in auditing the energy usage of a Brisbane based industry association, and provide advice on areas for improvement.
  • Speaking engagements - Various speaking engagements on Sustainability and NGERs issues, including Compliance and Reporting for Listed Companies mining
