With the ice caps melting so fast why arent we taking drastic action? It worries me that the global community isnt moving faster to tackle climate change. If we wait too much longer, surely it will be too late. I think it is the lack of government action and incentives for people to change their behaviour. The big companies make the biggest mess, yet it is mainly the small companies that care enough to do something. Big miners, manufacturers, transporters, oil companies etc must know their economic future is also threatened by climate change. They need to make an effort just as BP is trying to do.
We need to push hard for government and corporate action now! Also we need to support Al Gore's call to stop building new coal fired electricity plants with no emissions controls!!!!

What worries me the most about the melting Arctic Sea ice - is the glee of the mining companies who are thrilled to have access to untold oil and mineral wealth. They have no concern for the environment and only care about making money. This is the fundamental problem we face - making money is coming before saving our long term future.
